God speaks TO you while speaking through you

There's nothing quite like helping someone else with their problems, that will show you where you yourself are at. After all you gotta practice what you preach. Today I had the opportunity to speak into the life of another woman my age about her marriage. Believe me in the setting it was in, and our acquaintance level relationship I was not expecting her to open up to me let alone to come out with what she did. It was a blessing to be able to help her and although I'm the type of person who prefers ongoing discipling over one time advice-fests, I must run with what the Lord is doing and pray that It was what this woman needed.

It was amazing to me that everything she said, every concern verbalized, every held back tear and every look of worry on her face was all too familiar. I myself had the same kind of problems about two yrs ago and I am positively certain many many other young married couples face similar things. The wonderful thing about our conversation is that each word Of understanding and guidance that came from my mouth, also, at the same time implanted in my heart. Thats a good indication that God is speaking through you. Your learning at the same time. It's not something you think up yourself, it just flows from your spirit and brings peace and hope to the listener AND the person uttering it.

God had dealt with these same issues within myself a few yrs back, yet there were things said that until today, I hadnt noticed had been rooted within me and had bared fruit. I came away from that conversation seeing for the first time how far I had come, how much Jesus had done in me and for me. I came away grateful and humbled. I also realized there were a few things I had to check my own heart in. She left the conversation somewhat relieved and certainly with new hope for tomorrow. She felt that she wasn't alone.

God is so good, He is always working to touch our lives as we focus on touching the lives of others. When we open our heart God can fill it with wisdom that we would never attain on our own. Just wanted to share that :-)
