No, thats not a typo. It is the night before Christmas eve.
Twas the night before the night before Christmas,
And all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring...
Except for my daughter.
And all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring...
Except for my daughter.
10pm I check on my little lady and she's got her soft toys lined up at the top of the bed. She tells me excitedly "Im celebrating Christmas with my friends!". Completely cuted out, I swallow the lump in my throat and tuck her in.
This is the first year she has understood that there is something Special about Christmas. And the thing that thrilled me is that she wasn't playing a santa game, or talking about presents (although she is definately excited about the presents!) She was celebrating Christmas. This to her means the WHOLE thing. The exchanging of gifts, being with the people who mean the most and remembering Jesus. I know this because I asked her earlier that day what "Celebrating Christmas" meant. And tonight even after getting up and seeing me wrapping presents it still was about the whole thing. Just warms my heart.
Tomorrow she will be drawing Christmas pictures in the last of the cards that we will be giving out, helping me make Christmas Tree cupcakes with mint candy frosting, and reading the story of Jesus birth again. Its been a lovely december and im just as excited as I was when I was little!
The joy of a child is so contageous!
Praying you all have a very lovely Christmas filled with family, joy and most importantly the agape love of Christ.
XoXo
